About Andrew Mark

I am an illustrator and designer from upstate New York who graduated with a bachelor’s degree from Marist College, and recently received a Master of Fine Arts degree from Western Connecticut State University.

I believe that art can venture past the scope of our imaginations. As an artist, I envision the world in many new ways, pushing the limits on what I can do. I am a passionate storyteller, building entire worlds from scratch and breathing life into characters I create.

My work consists of bright and bold colors, reminiscent of the style typically found in animation and comic books. I work in multimedia, ranging from traditional painting and drawing, to digital illustration and graphic design, as well as photography and video editing. My ability to create stories is in all that I do and is drawn from life experience.

My family owns a Japanese import toy collectible business, and over the years, I have attended many comic and anime conventions, an exposure that continues to have a deep influence. Much of my work also draws inspiration from my heritage as a bilingual and bicultural fourth generation Chinese – American. I strive to meld the traditional cultural elements with the contemporary world in which I live and create.
